Biography

Dr Ariyanto Pramana is a compassionate, detail-oriented radiation oncologist, bringing a caring and supportive approach to his practice and supporting his patients throughout all stages of treatment. He is committed to delivering the highest level of care to his patients by listening to their concerns and keeping them well informed throughout their treatment.

Dr Ariyanto Pramana is an experienced radiation oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre Cairns and Icon Cancer Centre Cairns (Liz Plummer). He completed his medical degree with honours at the University of New South Wales, Sydney. He completed his internship and residency at the Western Sydney Local Health District (LHD), senior residency at Changi General Hospital, Singapore and at the South Eastern Sydney LHD. He finalised five years of radiation oncology specialist training at the Southern Sydney Radiation Oncology Training Network and was awarded fellowship to the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) in 2014. He accomplished 18 months of clinical and research staff specialist appointment at the St George Cancer Care Centre, Sydney.

He is actively involved in clinical professional development, research, undergraduate & radiation oncology teaching, and cancer advocacy at the state and national level. He is the current principal investigator in a study on positron emission tomography (PET) scans predicting response and survival in patients with oesophageal cancer undergoing chemo-radiation followed by surgery. Dr Pramana has a wide ranging practice with particular interest in genitourinary, breast, skin, lung, gastrointestinal, haematological and gynaecological cancers. He also has special interest in stereotactic radiation therapy delivery in lung and genitourinary malignancies.
